How do you do it????

I am struggling with how to manage my home.  I only have two children, Zane age 4 and Maddox age 7 months.  I am constantly upset with myself because I don't have a clean and well organized home.  I need help!  I can't seem to figure out how to get a good schedule going.  I have decided to try to do at least 1 productive thing a day.  It is so hard though because I am just trying to keep up with what is already going on!  The other day I cleaned out the office closet and organized some pictures.  Keep me accountable =)  Here are some verses that I need to read to give me guidance.

This verse is one that I really want to strive for in my walk.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine.  They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands that the word of God may not be reviled.  Titus 2:3-5

How am I able to be an older woman and teach the younger ones if I am not obeying this??  Pray that I am able to correct this.  All by the grace of our Father, of course.

Next,
Proverbs 31:27
She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Proverbs 31:10-31 is all really good.  I need to be following God's word better in this area of my life.

Till next time,
Soli Deo Gloria

Poppy Seed Chicken

Hello!
There have been many that have had my Poppy Seed Chicken and have asked for the recipe! Well, here you go! It is our families favorite =)

Chicken
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 cup of sour cream
2 teaspoons poppy seeds, divided
1/4 cup melted margarine
1/2 sleeve of Ritz crackers

Combine soup, sour cream and 1 teaspoon of poppy seeds in a bowl. Crush crackers and combine with melted margarine and remaining poppy seeds. ( I usually do this in a ziplock baggie, it works great) Use a 9x9 pan. Scoop some of the sour cream mixture and cover the bottom of your pan. Then put down your cooked chicken. (Just use as much as you want and whatever style you want as well. We prefer shredded) You can even use canned if you want to save time. Put the remaining mixture over the chicken. Top with the Ritz cracker crumb mixture.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

This is also a meal that can be made ahead of time and frozen. AWESOME! I have done this before and it worked out great. Just cover and freeze. Then defrost in fridge overnight and pop it in the oven for dinner =)

Side note about how many this will serve: Keegan, Zane and I finish this entire serving! Although I only use about 2-3 chicken breasts when I make this (the actual recipe says 4), I have quadrupled this recipe and have served many hungery bellies!

Suggestion for sides:
Green beans
Biscuits
?? Tell me what you would have as a side!

Hope you enjoy!

Apple Butter

I made the most easy, and amazing Apple Butter the other day.  Keegan and I are staying up way too late lately and the other night we decided to start making Apple Butter.  It was literally 10 PM!  And we decided to start this task.  I only made a half batch because I didn't have enough apples.  So, I peel them, Keegan cuts them and in to the crock pot they go.  My crock pot cooks really high, so I decided to put it on "keep warm"  Well, you are supposed to let it cook until the apples are mushy and are able to be blended.  It was 12:30 and I was about to fall over because I was so tired.  I checked on the apples and they were seriously almost done!  I didn't know what to do!  LOL  I wanted to just leave them overnight but I thought they were done.  Keegan convinced me to stay up with him while he played Call of Duty.  (Don't get me started on that one...  ugh)  So, I did.  1AM rolls around and we check on the apples.  Perfecto!  Since I don't have a hand held mixer, I had to transfer my apples to my huge kitchen maid to blend them up.  Okay, of course we tasted it every step of the way!  So amazingly deeeeelish!  So, back in to the crock pot it went.  For about oh I don't know 12-18 hours.  I went to Wal-mart to get some mason jars and I found some cute ones.  Then, I got some fabric to make the jars look cute.  And, some embellishments.  Ribbon, buttons...  etc.  So, Here is how it turned out!

Pretty cute, huh??

Well, this is where I got the recipe, and this is where I got the cute idea for the lid.  Instead of batting I used fleece that was in the remnant basket at Wally world.  (aka wal-Mart) and I used fabric from the remnants also.  So, it was a pretty inexpensive treat =)  I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Love, Natalie :D
